health & safety

What is the shelf life of Simply Purrfect® cat litter?

Simply Purrfect® scoopable cat litter does not lose its effectiveness over time. Please store the product in a cool, dry place until you are ready to use!

How often should I change the cat litter in my litter box?

The frequency with which your cat uses the litter box, and the number of cats using the litter box will determine how often the litter box should be changed.  Daily, or as needed, scoop out and discard all clumps and solid waste. Add more Simply Purrfect® cat litter to maintain a depth of 3-4 inches.  Once a month, we recommend washing out the cat litter pan with warm water and a mild detergent.

What happens if my cat eats the cat litter?

Cat litter of any type is not meant to be ingested. Please contact your veterinarian for additional information.

How should I dispose of my Simply Purrfect® scoopable cat litter? Is it okay to flush clumps down the toilet?

Encouraging your cat to use an indoor litter box, or properly disposing of outdoor cat feces, is beneficial to overall water quality. Do not flush cat litter down toilets or dispose of it outdoors in gutters or storm drains. Dispose of waste in a trash receptacle in accordance with local regulations.

Is it safe for pregnant women to handle used cat litter?

Unused cat litter is completely safe to handle, but we want to remind pregnant or nursing women and those with suppressed immune systems that a parasite sometimes found in cat feces can cause toxoplasmosis. Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling cat litter.
